OK, so I've been taking Remicade since January 2009 and now it's not working as well. I take it once a month and it's been running out way too fast. My body just uses it up too quickly. My doctors gave me a choice of either getting Cimzia or Humira. I'm pretty worried about the side affects for both and I'm just not sure which med I should start taking. My GI doctor prefers Cimzia because it's taken less often than Humira but I'm still not sure.
Can somebody tell me if they've used either one and how well they worked out for you?
THANKS!!

i will keep u in my prayers. i am searching for the same answer myself. Wether thr benefits out way the risks on the cizmia? Best of luck to you:)

Tomorrow is two weeks on Cimzia for me and it's been wonderful so far. It's two shots every 4 weeks (after the loading doses) in your stomach or thighs. I've not taken Humira or Remicade so I can't compare, but I've heard the Humira shots are more painful. From everything I have read, which is A LOT, the benefits far outweigh the negatives. Also, the scary side effects (lymphoma) is usually found in younger males who are being treated for Rheumatoid Arthritis. When my doctor decided to put me on it, I told him, "I'll do anything to keep my insides inside me and no longer be in pain." Sometimes quality of life is more important than worrying about what if type scenarios that might not ever happen.

I know there are a few people around here who have been on Cimzia a lot longer than me who can give you more info. They were very helpful to me when I started it two weeks ago.

Good luck to you, I hope you find relief soon.
