Thought this might come in handy for some of the UK peeps. Lidl have 7-day pill boxes for £3. Each compartment is about twice the size of other pill boxes I've seen- enough for me to get all my meds and supplements, and a few of my 'just in case' pills in! And instead of being big and flat, each day stacks on top of each other, and each day can be removed and slipped into your handbag. Or even a pocket for the men. And the box doesn't look too old lady ish either.

I wish I could find something like this here in the US! I did get an oversize pill holder from Target, but the little compartments aren't removable or stackable. If anybody in the US knows where I can get something like what Rebecca described, please let me know!

Cat - I found something similar at a dollar store, that was meant for holding beads, and came with 6 compartments, so I bought two to add a seventh. Try looking at craft stores, too! :)

Sounds like a good idea , I'll have to check it out. My meds bag is silly big at the moment - the adcal d3 tabs/boxes are humungous! It would be better to transfer them to a pill box.
Though I am lucky not to be on pentasa so my meds are all morning ones.

Really you should be taking your iron at a different time to your calcium supplements though! As calcium prevents iron being absorbed.

I found it was my supplements rather than meds taking up all the space, I mean the vit D tablets are teeny (smaller than azathioprine, about the size of pred), 60 in a pack, and yet they come in a standard size pill bottle.

I have had my iron stopped now and had iron infusions - should update my sig!
My cal vit d tabs are huge chewy things the size of a 2p piece and in a blister pack so take loads of space. The Pred 2.5 mg come in a bottle though so it would be better with a pill box.

All this talk about pill boxes, so I thought I'd chime in.

I have used bead holders as well as tiny tackle boxes in the past to hold my pills for when I have to leave the house.

But what I'm using right now has completely changed how I take my meds. The box I use now only holds two days worth of pills for me, but it has a built in alarm. It goes off four times a day, according to how I set it.

This alarmed box has kept me from forgetting pill time no matter where I am. The beeping can become annoying, but I don't end up in a lurch with my meds all out of kilter by the end of the day. For me it's the perfect thing.

I found mine on ebay, but beware when buy as some have countdown timers that have to be set every time it goes off. The one I have is rectangular and blue. It has a clock and four alarm times.
