Here I sit with a camera still lodged in my small intestine. No obstruction, yet, but it is now Day 19. X-Rays every couple of days still show its in the same place. Dr. Has increased my Humira injections to weekly and prescribed Reglan to move food along more quickly. Well, everything's moving, but the camera. Getting tired of checking poop:(

Hi and welcome.
I know what you mean by being tired of checking poo.
My 6 yr old has this disease and poo checking is a past time in this house.

Have they given plan B, C or D if it doesn't budge?
Do you have IBD?

I had the camera stuck when I took the test. They told me they believed it had passed at the conclusion, but I don't remember what they did to verify. The following week, I had the joy of the camera obstructing at the rectum, and it was far from pleasant. Into emergency I went, they couldn't get it on the first try with a scope (surprise surprise, no bowel prep) so I had the "joy" of drinking lactulose and essentially trying to fart the thing out for a week. Really, really, really uncomfortable. Don't let it go too long.

Well, now it is Day 20 and the pillcam is still lodged in the "lowest portion of the small intestine", I'm injecting my weekly Humira tonight hoping something happens. I've had so many obstructions in this same spot that you would think that the doc would have known the camera would get stuck. I want it out and I think I'd like to determine the when and where instead of being rushed to the ER. Getting so anxious.

I think that's a very sensible request. If it's a known area for obstruction than why is not the doc making a plan to fix the problem?

Is the GI thinking it's just inflammation and not scar tissue?

Hi Farmwife,
Yes, the GI is thinking it's inflammation since the film showed lots of it and plenty of ulceration. Personally, I think it's scar tissue and it's not going to budge. He said he will wait until week 4 and surgery is the "last resort". I have an unusual bit of Crohn's. Hardly ever D, mostly constipation and 9 obstructions that required hospitalizations. GI would like to start Remicade, but I am fearful. Do you know about that?

My Grace just had her Remicade today( she has this disease not me). Remicade has been wonderful for her. She has a life and somewhat good health. Grace is a lot like you, constipation way more than diarrhea.

I hope it gets better.
