I am wondering what people do who have no insurance?

How do you manage your Crohns?

What are cheap medicine options?

I can't deal w/ this anymore. As of right now I am only on a low-grade pain pill and tons of immodium.
I had an accident yesterday at work.I don't qualify for insurance and really don't know what to do.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions please let me know.
Thank you.

xoxo

Prednisone is cheap, but you don't want that one long-term.

I got Asacol samples from my GI and more from his PA. I had enough to last me for 3 or 4 months. Never once had to buy them. Otherwise, it would've been $600 a month.

Now I'm on Remicade and get the medicine and supply pack for free from Johnson & Johnson. I just had to fill out an application and send it in to them. Other medicines have options like this, too. Ask your doctor.

Also, the health reform should be helping you out. Check out this link for S Dakota.

Good luck and hang in there, hun.

Thank you, Jessi. :)
Do I apply for something like this?

Affordable insurance for uninsured with pre-existing conditions. $10.7 million federal dollars are available to South Dakota starting July 1 to provide coverage for uninsured residents with pre-existing medical conditions through a new transitional high-risk pool program, funded entirely by the Federal government. The program is a bridge to 2014 when Americans will have access to affordable coverage options in the new health insurance exchanges and insurance companies will be prohibited from denying coverage to Americans with pre-existing conditions. If states choose not to run the program, the Federal government will administer the program for those residents.

Good work Jessi, I was going to say the same thing about the prednisone.. but the US has a different system than Canadians do, thanks for helping her out!

We were fortunate enough to find a supplement that takes care of the symptoms completely. My husband never spent much time on meds and we quit the doctors pretty quick too. We were fed up from the beginning basically and took into our own hands. Hubby's remedy costs us $50/ month. No doctors No meds =)
Also samaritanministries.org is a great way to obtain insurance without relying on the government. It's worth looking into. Good luck
