Hello all,

I wanted to ask you all what you had done to get a diagnosis?

Tests completed so far -
Bone density - low bone mass - "-1.4" "normal reading (-1 - +1"
Vitamin D - normal "73"
Calcium - normal
Alkaline phosphatase - 112* "normal reading (35-110)"
Phosphorus -1.49* "normal reading (0.80-1.40)"

Suggested tests -
????

Please suggest a test which will give a result that stands out?

My consultant tested CRP and Platelets and he considers these to be the best inflammatory markers. He doesn't use ESR any more.

Have you had a Colonoscopy and biopsies?

I had a colonoscopy/gatroscopy 3 years ago.
negative ceoliac
doctor stated "no sign of crohns"
H.ploria - negative

I havent had the pillcam done yet...
can Crohns only be discovered via pillcam sometimes?

I don't know, I have never had a pill cam. In fact none of the colonoscopys have seen the full colon as I have a loopy bowel apparently! I guess they saw what they needed in the bit they could get to.

Crohn's can sometimes be discovered only by Pill Cam. It has a tendency to hide in the small bowel, which is only peeked into either end with both scopes.

I would suggest Compound C3 and C4 blood tests, which are good inflammatory markers.

Based on your other posts, I would also suggest perhaps seeing a Rhematologist. I have found mine way better than a succession of useless of GI's. No dx for me yet but he looks at a whole range of things, not just the gut.

Seeing rheumatologist tomorrow.
I hope he can help me more. I'm losing weight so quick.
90kg 2 months ago. 75 now.
Thanks again for your advice :)
