Hi.

Does anyone else feel like crap the day after eating popcorn. I wonder if my intestines are unable to produce the massive amount of fibre associated with the corn or if it is my diverticulosis that does not like the fibre or even a combination of both. But each time I eat popcorn, exspecially if I eat ALOT of it I find myself having more pain and bathroom trips the very next day or two until things settle down.

Am I the only one.

As far as im aware, you cannot digest corn kernels, so they just pass through you. If you have inflammation these can get stuck and cause pain, bloating etc (thats the simple way I understand it)

I try not to eat anything with corn in it now (popcorn, corn on cob, cornflakes, doritos etc) as they cause too much pain than they are worth

I can't eat corn without it irritating my intestines, and popcorn is the worst offender of all the corn products.

I keep a pretty good food diary and the only things so far that I know I cannot eat without considerable repercussions are large amounts of green salad and any amount of popcorn.
It's probably done me a favour though - no more stuffing my face in the cinema and then spending hours retrieving the husks that get wedged down between teeth and gums - eughh!!
