Hello-

I was dx at 18 with severe Crohns-basically bedridden and hospitalized multiple times....tried every med available at the time and nothing brought relief. I ended up totally obstructed and had a small bowel resection. From that point forward, I have never had any active disease, no drugs (aside from immodium) and have gone on to almost forget I have this disease.

So, 4-6 trips of diarrhea a day has pretty much been my norm over the years since the resection....

Now, I am scared I may be having a flare and will be visiting my family doctor soon....does this sound like it to you?

Symptoms: (Sorry for the gross descriptions)

Noticed a big jump in # of diarrhea (8 average 16 the worst) in the past couple of months. Pure liquid (it sounds like I am peeing but it is D

(It it not diet related as I also suffer from and eating disorder and literally eat the same 2 foods daily)

No RLQ pain.....

Low-grade fevers starting in the afternoons/evenings 99-100 (this is not a normal temp range for me) the past week. Also, have noticed my hands seem stiff, lower back achy-stiff. And now the watery D looks slimy and stringy-no blood. I've never had bloody stools.

Also, my mouth feels funny, swolllen almost but can't see any sores.

I have only woken 2x in the past 6 or 7 weeks to have D at night. But, for example, this morning before consuming anything I went D 5 times before 8 am.

So.....does this sounds like a flare? The only achiness is lower back, nothing in the stomach (yet). There is no pain with D, it just is constantly ready to go.

If anyone has any insights to this please share! The low-grade fevers are what have me worried as that is how it started last time.

Hi there! Wow, a 20 year remission is awesome! :)

Your symptoms sound like you may be having a flare, unfortunately. Although, I am not a doctor, I can't tell you for sure! I think it is a good idea for you to go to the doc to get checked out. Hopefully, if it is flaring, they can give you some meds that will help you along.

Welcome to the forum! :)

I'd get this checked. A lot of the symptoms sounds like those I experienced before my initial diagnosis - so yes it could be a flare.
