Doc said before she thought I might have RA along with my Crohns but wanted to address my crazy low vitamin D and see if that helped things before moving to look at RA more closely.

New adventure this week, saw GI last friday. Noted some mild fluid retention in hands and feet she attributed to prednisone and figures it will ease off as we taper.
Tuesday morning i wake up and left ankle is ridiculously swollen. Had GI on the phone clarifying something and mention this. She says "go see PCP ASAP. I want that checked. If he cant see you by thursday, call back and i will fit you in. We need to make sure we arent missing arthritis or a blood clot" :ack:

Sorry, hope you get to the bottom of it soon. How low is your D? I've been struggling to increase mine for 2 years and it seems 10,000 IU of D3 daily is helping me get there.

No real answers yet but there is movement toward getting them at least. so far i have Rx for Lasix and an appointment tomorrow for ultrasound to check for blood clot and another appointment for fasting bloodwork to check heart liver and kidney function as well as normal labs. Do. Not. Want.

well we had the ultrasound. Does not appear to show any blood clots which is the good news. Bad news is wont know anything further until i get the fasting blood draw on wednesday so kidney/heart/liver issues are still in play. Urgh

I'm glad it's not blood clots. Best of luck with the other stuff. Please keep us updated. I know this must be scary :(

*hugs*
