Prednisone for 6 days but still bad flaring?

I was prescribed 30mg of prednisone a day last Wednesday, but I'm still really unwell. I've been battling severe diarrhea for over a week now, feel completely exhausted and I'm not able to get into work either . I hate having to take so much time off, but I literally couldn't get through a day at work right now.

Definitely call your GI doc about this.

When I started on Prednisone my symptoms stopped immediately. Once I tapered down the symptoms started again. My doc told me that I needed the stronger dose until I could go onto something long term. Perhaps you need something stronger as well?

I question the 30 mg dose. I am not an expert on this... but for my first time, on 30mg, I felt nothing either... 40-45 seemed to be where it 'kicked in' for me.... but there are cases where it just doesn't help at all.. and you have to try something else.

I just started again on 40... and am not feeling much of a difference as of yet... but 'fingers crossed'.

I'm in the same boat I was given 30mg for five days then taper off 5mg every three days.I took my last pill on the 31st but still have really bad D but I have no pain.They noticed my crp level was raised but they said it wasn't by a lot,its my first flare in seven years.I feel so tired and run down ive broken out in boils and my gums have split open



Just back from the doc CRP level is down to 19 it was 33 so ive been put on pred again :ybatty: oo:
