Hi
Came back with my daughter from second Remicade infusion.
Started Prednisone taper Tuesday from 20mg to 10. Had blood in stools on Thursday like never before.:frown: Don't know if it's from ileum or fistula. I guess taper was too fast. Going back to 20mg tomorrow. Remicade so far so good.
Found a way to get her blood pressure to stay up. (She plays Nintendo DS, and gets mad when she is losing.) :ysmile:

Ouch that is a fast taper.
Maybe ask your doc about a slower taper.
Our doc has DS taper by 5 mg a week.
Your doc may want something different or gave a another plan ( again not a doc so you need to ask yours)

Thinking the same. It was to fast. We will try again, but slower. She never had blood in stools before. Only a little bit from anal fistula. SED rate low now. CRP low, on Remicade because of fistula. So I am confused.

Sorry to hear about the blood. Hope the slower Pred taper helps with that. I will be interested to see if the Remi gets rid of the fistula - that is my son's only symptom just now and it seems to be hard to get rid of.

Meant to post earlier.... we had MANY of the same problems. Had to slow to the taper to 5mg jumps and it worked much better.

We are completely steroid dependant! We were diagnosed 2 months ago and both times we have tried to taper, we have had major issues and can't get into remission! We just started Remicade, hope that does the trick! Good Luck to you as well!

I agree that 10mg drops are too much. I hope the bump and then the gentler taper does the trick for your girl.

Good luck! and let us know how you get on. :)
