For you probiotic experts out there...

I noticed the probiotic DS uses (Melaleuca brand) was in a new container with a different looking label so as I was reading the ingredients to make sure it was still gluten free, I realized that more than just the label has changed.

Old:
5 million colonies
lactobacillus acidophilus
bifidobacterium lactis

New:
10 million colonies
lactobacillus acidophilus
lactobacillus plantarum
lactobacillus casei
lactobacillus rhamnosus
bifidobacterium longum
bifidobacterium lactis
bifidobacterium bifidum

That seems like a pretty big change to me and now I'm hesitant to give it to him.

Thoughts?

You can start slow to see if the new strains agree with him but keep in mind we have billions of bacteria in our bodies and while 10 million sounds like a lot, it is a drop in the bucket.

Agree with above
The probiotics DS takes vsl#3 double strength
It has 900 billion per packet .
With 8 strains

Good luck

I'm in agreement with everyone else. Though it seems like a drastic change in ingredients it still has a far way to go. Give it 2 weeks and see if there is any change. Talk to your GP/GI about it too. A naturopath may be able to tell you more then they can though.

Also agree with the others. Sounds like they are trying to make major improvements to the product though!
