Hi

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and can suggest what I should do. On Monday I had my Flexi Sig with a fleet enenma, since 7pm on Monday night I have nothing but diarrhoea, I spoke to my IBD nurse and asked what I should do, she said just to ride it out as the prep might have upset the balance in my bowel. I am finding within two hours of eating im going like a trooper and then its none stop for a couple of hours. This morning I was at my whits end so I took two Lopermide and it stopped and I was able to go out but within two hours of eating tonights meal it was stright back out again.

The biggest problem is I am so tired from running the loo and getting up in the night to go as well, so any suggestions or ideas would be great

Hi there, I can't say I have had this problem. I would get straight back onto the nurse tomorrow about it. You have tried riding it out and surely you shouldn't still be having these issues a week after the procedure?? I would have thought any of the prep would be long gone by now. What did the flexi show? The meds you are on should be keeping any inflammation at bay......

Have you tried several days of small, bland meals to "nurse" your system back to it's customary level?

Any other symptoms such as pain or a temperature?

I would also speak to the IBD nurse again.

Hi Ormsklad,

Sorry to hear you are still struggling. I think the others are right, you need some help now. It has gone on for a week.

Give them a call, my IBD nurses usually speak to my consultant for me the same day. He would usually see me straight away too.

Make sure you keep yourself hydrated (lucozade sport etc).

Good Luck xxx

thanks folks for all your advise, well after the d on sat night I havent taken anything and I have not been since, worried now as I can tell I need to go but carnt and due to having a couple of farmer giles banded last week I am foreseeing the pain. I will call my IBD nurse this morning.

Angrybird. I dont know what it showed as they didnt give me a report this time, but my gp said he carnt make his mind up if it is a bit of a flare again from the crohns or IBS but they did band 3 farmer gliles for me and by the time I got home one of the bands had fallen off!.

I've had this problem, I don't know but I guess all the induced diarrhea seems to trigger a mini-flare. Not a typical one, but just like your colon is saying it didn't appreciate what you did to it. Try taking some probiotics and see if restoring the good bacteria in your tummy helps. It usually takes me a week for it to stop.
