Is it normal to feel this pain when i have procititis it feels like im being stabbed and burned inside just before i go to the loo . Its agony . Im on pred at the min which is fixing most of my problems except from the pain ! Been on 40mg for a week now

I think pain is common with any I.B.D problems.Does the pain ease after you've used the loo ? Give the pred a wee while longer,perhaps another week.If you have an I.B.D. nurse give her a ring.You DON'T have to tolerate pain for to long.Meds are all trial and error,and what works for some,is useless for others.

Yeah its like u can feel it travelling down and out ( sorry for the detail) then the pain eases , but the pain it terrible

I rarely get pain that bad,but I do on occasion,and some times feel very,very sick.I've never used Pred.Since dx with Proctitis over 6yrs ago,I have used Asacol Supps.,and they suit me fine up to now.If the pred isn't doing its job for you,then I would see your Med.team and ask about a change.This is an ongoing curse,but if you get suitable treatment,it's liveable with....Pain in the bum though eh ? (sorry,I'm not making fun of you,)

Yeah defo pain in the bum ! Ha well i tried the mesalasine enemas they r no good so now im onto pred oral tablets t get my symptoms undercontrol then i think it will be the pred foam after that if no better but my consultant wants me to do the oral first for some reason . Think i may have to ask i i can do the foam now as the pain is pretty unbareable . And yeah it makes me feel physically sick

At least you are in regular contact with the hospital,and you are being monitored.I hope they find something that does the trick pretty soon.I count myself very lucky,compared with most people on this forum,but I do get pretty sick sometimes.Please keep us up to date.Everything discussed can be of help to others.Best wishes.....Carol
