Well, DD has been on the Prednisone (40 mg/day) for about 9 days now and I am slowly seeing signs of real improvement. She's not having as many BMs and the ones she has are darker (they were almost yellow before) and more formed. Still has a way to go but nice to see some level of improvement.

However, the side effects are a bit intense. The girl is eating everything she can get her hands on (which is good . . . I want her to gain). My grocery budget is going to be double this month. And the mood swings . . oh my . . . I'm not sure which kid I'm going to get from moment to moment. She's in the middle of semester tests at school which is not made any easier by these meds.

Still waiting for the doctor to call with the pathology. I've called 3 times this week. It's on his desk and he has to sign off before I can get any further information. So frustrating to know the information is there and not be able to access it. I should be getting a call today.

I'm back from my work trip and glad to be able to take care of my DD in person as opposed to by phone. Will update when I get the elusive pathology results!

I'm glad she is feeling better. Remind yourself everyday to be patient with her. I've found when I start to lose it, my daughter gets way worse and it doesn't pay to lose my cool with her. Pressure about studying, etc, is what really set my daughter off last time.

So, about 5 minutes after I posted I got a call from the GI's office. The nurse said the Dr. wants to see DD next week so I got her in on Tuesday. We will go over the pathology and discuss next steps.

So, to be continued . . . . .
