Oh my, Grace is weaning off her pred and I noticed her eczema is starting to return.
The doc said to give her body time to adjust without the pred and things should get better. I hope he's right.
Does your Psoriasis meds works well to heal it up?
Remicade can actually cause skin issues - even though it is used to treat psoriasis.....there ~may~ be a relationship between your meds and skin condition - something that bears talking about with your doctor.
I have issues with a pseudo-psoriasis (skin samples came back negative) - but it sure looks like it on my torso and assorted spots here and there.....
Do you have medications that you use to help with your patches?
Have you ever tried a anti-inflammatory food approach? You may want to try cutting at 100% :gluten, corn, milk products, sugars and emphasizing on vegetables for a while and see if it can help. This basically means preparing most of your food, but the experiement may be worth while.
I was on cyclosporine for my Psoriasis which gave me good clearance but when I started to flare up with the Crohns, my GI started me on the Imuran and Remicade and my dermatologist took me off the Cyclosporine as she didn't want me to be on this long term anyway and told me the Imuran and Remicade would give me 100% clearance. I noticed my skin peeling on my 2nd remicade infusion but then it was fine for a while after that. Then it rapidly started coming back after my 3rd infusion, but it was also the weekend I finished my Prednisolone so its difficult to tell which one may have caused it. I would be more inclined to think it was the Remicade as I've been on Pred a few times and have never had this problem before. I have left a message with my Dermatologists secretary who is going to pass on my message and try and get me an appointment.
Lady - My Crohns really dislikes vegetables (which I am truly gutted about) but i will try cutting out some of the others and see how I get on
Thanks my little Penguin. Did you get referred to dermo for your ds? They decided to put me on cyclosporine so at the moment, I'm on two immunosuppressents and a biologic which I can deal with, but the only problem is that although the majority of my skin has heeled up, I still have ongoing problems with my feet not heeling which has been going on since April/May with only 1 week of relief before the skin all peeled off again.
I can just call and schedule with any specialist without a referral so as soon as the rashes started I called for an appt.
By time we were seen DS had reacted to remi twice and had to stop it.
Skin issues stopped when he stopped remi .
Humira has been better skin wise
