Hey
So before I was diagnosed I used to suffer quite badly from this under my arms, but at soon as I was diagnosed and put on steriods it went, and has been gone for about 3 years, and as of last August I was in remission.
However, recently, I have become very stressed with University work etc, and I have found that it has returned both on my arm and on my stomach in the last month or so. What I want to know is whether it could be an unrelated case to the Crohn's or whether it's probably a sign that when I have the scope thats coming up I should prepare myself? I know that's like asking others to be an oracle for me, but at the same time, I don't really know what the link is just that I know there is a link...

Considering how Crohn's can be stress-triggered for many people, it could be that the inflammation in your system has caused your psoriasis to return, too. Especially considering how they're both linked to the immune system. For your sake, I hope that your Crohn's isn't coming back. Are you getting any other symptoms?

Thanks for the answer Ocean :). .. could it also mean that it's coming back separately from the Crohn's? Or as they are both related to the immune system would that it be really unlikely?

That's the thing I'm really unsure, because I had a reversal of a stoma I've been suffering from d quite badly on and off since then, but it does seem to get worse when I'm really stressed out (which at the moment is more often then not)- however it's a hard one that.
Equally well, I think the aching in my joints has returned, but only recently which I'm putting down carrying heavy bags of shopping or my bag with loads of books and a laptop in it or from being cold. However this was something I also suffered from badly pre-diagnosis...

It could be separate from Crohn's, yes. Or it might even be from medication, your environment... I deal with both psoriasis and eczema, even though I'm in remission.

I'm not sure if you've checked it out already or not, but we do have a stoma support group as well as a subforum. I personally don't have experience with one, but maybe you could get help from one of the members there? I also tried to look up stoma reversal surgery, and I am seeing some mentions of getting D and having some unusual BMs as your body readjusts. There's also an article about coping with it here.

Aching joints is a symptom I associate with Crohn's, but if you've had that even before diagnosis it may or may not be because of it. What you're describing does remind me of arthritis, though.
