Hello Ladies!
I have a bit of a personal question, sorry for tmi!
I have my period, I'm on day 2, usually my period is light, I maybe go through two pads per day. Tonight, all of a sudden, my bleeding is much heavier, and there are clumps of blood coming out ( I assume these are clots). Iam on prednisone right now, just tapering off, has anyone had this happen on prednisone? I'm just always worried about blood clots and being at higher risk with having crohns.
Think I should see my dr?
Thanks for your support!

Not on most of your meds, but this year the same happened to me, except I had been three years without a period and then got a heavy, crampy, clotty one. OB felt it was due to coming out of a prolonged anemia which became quite severe before diagnosed and treated. The iron IVs, folic acid, and B12 shots all raised my iron, folate, and B 12 levels to the point that my body "allowed" me to have a period again... just went kind of gangbuster on me. GI and OB were both actually pleased, once they ran labs to make sure I was actually pre-menopausal (I am 47, so might not have been). Depending on how long your have been taking your folic acid and B12, maybe you are having something similar. I would still call your OBgyn and ask, but I wouldn't get really alarmed. Good luck!

It wouldn't hurt to at least call your OB/GYN, but I wouldn't be to worried. Crohn's alone can impact your cycle. Up until about a year ago, I never knew what a menstrual cramp felt like (I've had my period for 13 years) but with this flare that I've been dealing with, everything has changed and I wish I was a boy once a month.
Just to be sure, let your doctor know of the changes. She might want to do an exam just to be safe
