question: related conditions?

I was wanting to see if anyone has experienced some symptoms that I am having and if they have any insight into what might be going on and if it is related to my crohn's. I am hoping my Dr. is referring me to a rhuematologist soon. I have horrible pain, stiffness, and just an overall heaviness feeling in my legs and arms. It literally feels at times like I can't possibly move them or lift them, especially my legs. Any pat or playful grab on my legs or arms sends a paralyzing pain throughout the entire limb. We have also noticed for awhile now that my hands will appear to be blue/gray at times. I would love to hear if anyone else has gone through this, or going through it. I am currently on Entocort and Diltiazem cream for anal fissures.

Hi, welcome to the forum. Have you been checked for MS? There was a girl on the forum awhile back who had MS and I believe her symptoms were similar to what you've described. Or possibly, with the pain you're describing, maybe it could be fibromyalgia? Either way, I would definitely get it checked out. Good luck, I hope you get some answers and relief soon.

I have MS, and the feeling you describe of the overall feeling of heaviness in your arms and legs and shooting pains are a part of my symptoms (it usually comes closely with feeling of pins and needles, lack of sensitivity...my cat scratched me and I didn't feel it at all, and so on). The rheumatologist is a start, but you may want to see a neurologist as well.

Your symptoms may not be MS, but may in fact be peripheral neuropathy, which is associated with Crohn's Disease (there are some studies on this, and Wikipedia lists it as an "extraintestinal symptom" in their write-up on Crohn's). Or it could be something else altogether. While waiting for these doctor's, you may want to get your Vitamins D and B12 levels checked and see if they're low.

I am going in the morning for a RA profile which they said would test for RA and Lupus so I guess that is a start.

Let us know what you find out. Hope that everything is ok and it turns out to be something 'simple'
