Question to all UC people

Crohn's Disease Forum

Help Support Crohn's Disease Forum:

Yes. It has stopped the bleeding twice before. It help to put me into remission three times now if i remember correctly. Right now, I've been losing massive amounts everyday for two or three weeks now. Feeling a lot more anemic too. I've started a new probiotic and this is day 2 or 3. And its helping a lot today.
I used various probiotics, Right now just one, once a day.

Oh and since you're on a lot of antibiotics, probiotics will be less and less effective. Some research out there showing studies of people taking a loading dosage (more then recommended on label) and being more effective.

I agree that probiotics are a good thing... sometimes. I've been through most of the meds for UC, and I've found that my system is extremely fragile when it comes to manual intakes. I have to start at the lowest dose possible for any vitamin, probiotic, or supplement, otherwise I will feel terribly nauseous and out of sorts until I stop taking it. Knowing your body and how it reacts to things is incredibly important. This disease is so unique in that no two cases are the same.

I've found coconut oil to be good for my system.

Best of luck to you.

I guess compared to a lot of people here I have pretty moderate UC. I'm on Asacol, which generally kept things in check, but then I'd have bad patches where I'd have cramps for a few weeks, till things settled down. With the consent of my doctor, I started taking a probiotic over a year ago and it has been great. Now, when I have a flare up, it usually lasts a day or two, not a week or two.

I don't have a ton of bleeding, just some spots, so I don't change my meds for bleeding or not.
