So ive been dealing with this stuff far too long, I would think I would know the answers by know...but Im human and dont. My question is, during flares, before or after....does your taste become wierd? Ive been having a hard time eating because Im always queasy, but when I do eat....things taste NASTY!! They taste rotten and disgusting. Never had that happen before but its awful.

It seems more like something phsycological.....I never have any problems with tastes maybe your tastebuds were affected??? sorry can't relate what type of issue this could be.I'll try to get some info if this is related to your condition..........

I don't know if it's physical or psychological but I have the same problem. Sometimes I get such a HUGE craving for certain foods (Dunkin donuts and Taco Bell) and then when i eat it, I want to throw up. They don't taste even remotely like I remember. All I can taste is a cardboard or mettalic taste...it changes all the time.

I did read today that a side effect of being Vitamin B deficient is nausea and stomach upset. I see you are taking B12, perhaps you are still lacking in B? The reason I was reading about it is because I'm still deficient even though I'm taking more than I should each day. But I'm also on 6MP which can also cause nausea and change in taste. Again, I never know if it's psychological since I know some foods will make me sick or if it's because of meds or lack of vitamins changing my taste.

if you find an answer, I'd LOVE to know.

I am very B12 deficient...however, I do take injections every week of B12. Thanks for your input

The only time I got a metallic taste was when I was taking flagyl. It's maybe a side effect of all the meds your on as any imbalance in the body can have an effect on your taste buds, ask you doc to check just incase its something that can be easily fixed.
