Help Support Crohn's Disease Forum:

I am currently in remission and on no medications related to my crohn's. Fingers crossed!

hi & welcome bruni :)

i went 20 years with no meds after surgery.. only recently the crohns has decided to let me know its still there, so i'm on prednisolone at the moment. i think meds treatment varies from person to person, and depends very much on how their crohns is behaving and affecting them. i know crohns sufferers who havent had surgery, but are managing to cope with a very careful diet, and only turn to meds when it flares. other people are on a degree of meds continually.

I'm on about 10 of them, all have the root of Crohn's to some degree or another. I go on and off others too, so I've been on as few as a couple and as many as a dozen or so.

Like was said, I know of some who are in remission without a single med....all depends on the disease.

Welcome to the forum. Some people can go for a while on no medicine. I'm now only on Remicade at this time though.

I am on Low Dose Naltrexone, but prior to that I had it fairly well under control with various supplements.

The LDN is such an easy and safe treatment I figured it was worth it not to risk another stricture.

Doing Great.

I had a period of symptom free, med free (I didn't realize at the time that an early, vaguely mis-diagnosed outbreak that last nearly 2 months was my first intro to it)
otherwise great health, no issues other than occasional bouts of flu like issues, of 10 years... then another similar that lasted 5 years... Now, I have only had 'free' days while on meds or post surgery... currently, on LDN, my symptoms are there, but greatly reduced... manageable, liveable, workable, enjoyable. I have only been on LDN for a few months, so it may even get better. Or worse.
