Hi Everyone,

I have had Crohn's for alomost 20 years in small bowel. I am currently on Humira and it has been working great for me, with no side effects (yet). I have noticed in the last 6 months that when I wake in the morning my knees and fingers are a little stiff, within a minute or so after getting up out of bed it all goes away, and doesn't come back in the day. Would this be the start of arthritis? I am always a little scared of developing Lupus aswell.

The other symptom I have had twice in the last 6 months, is I get a sore patch of skin. No rash, no itch, no redness, skin looks absolutely normal, but is tender. I asked my Gastro and he didn't think it was related to Crohns or humira, anyone else experience this?

Thanks for all your help!
Lam

Hi Lam,
According to the Mayo Clinic, people with severe Crohn's can get arthritis. Strangely, when I started treatment for Crohn's, my hip pain disappeared completely. You could check with your pharmacists if any of your symptoms could be side effects. I get these strange sensations in my upper arms, of tender skin, but it also feels cold. I think it could be part of the nerve damage I got from Flagyl.
