So i know i didnt have a very successful trip to the dietician. But the only thing she said that i didnt think of was to make a sauce from some veggies and use it in stead of tomato sauce. I can eat such things as cooked veggies, cooked well. So that may work.

Now my question is does anyone do this??? Cause i dont have the first idea on how....lol.....

Second: what about blending fruits? like making smoothies ? does anyone do taht??? I read about juicing and i dont have a juicer , but have a blender. Would fruit be more tolerated perhaps if blended up and added to some yogurt and water/ juice??? I can drink smoothies that you buy in the grocery store, so wondered about making my own????

Does anyone have any experience with this???

The meat sauce I make even when feeding non Crohn's people doesn't have much tomato sauce actually. I blend carrots with chicken stock which makes a delicious sauce (I usually put tomato paste in the sauce for a bit of extra flavour).

I saw somethin called Nomato Sauce (nomato.com) at my grocery store, but I haven't tried it and cannot vouch for its taste/healthiness.

I can tolerate red capsicum/bell pepper as long as it is well-cooked, so I roast one in the oven every time that I am using it for anything else, peel, de-seed and blend. Then I use it anywhere that you would use tomato. I make lasagne with turkey mince and red capsicum sauce and, as long as I use the traditional herbs such as oregano, basil, parsley, most people can't tell the difference. As shmo said, grated carrot cooked slowly in a little olive oil, then blended is a great addition. I also slow cook eggplant/aubergine and turn the inside of that into a paste, add good olive oil, a bit of lemon juice, salt to taste or a bit of soy, if you can tolerate that (I use wheat free tamari).

I can't eat much fruit but find that I can tolerate plums if they are stewed and they would be nice in a smoothie.
