Just had to post on here feeling so fed up with the pain my stomach and joining in with that my arthritis which is getting ridiculous. Even when I take painkillers it doesn't get rid of the pain so I can move about they just knock me out so if I want to be awake (which is hard enough already) I have to suffer. And other painkillers don't seem strong enough. I have now been getting pain in my neck and over the past couple of days in the centre of my rib cage which hurts when I move my arms. So now my arms and legs are bad, doing well at the minute. Got an appointment with the GI doc on firday so hopefully he can help with my stomach but looks like I will have to phone the rheum doc aswell to help with my joints.

If anyone has any tips to help with the pain I would really appreciate it especially with the joints?

So fed up :(

Hi,
Physical therapy might help for the long run of it. it did at some level for me...Right now they have me on percoset to deal with joint pain I also use ice and heat to help.

Thanks for the advice. Just had a massive cry and feel a bit better think I needed to get it all out of my system spend so much of my time pretending im ok. x

Sorry your feeling so fed up :( Hope the doc's can sort your joint pain out aswell. It's hard enough to try and get on with things at times without joint pain coming along!

In the past when my joints have been giving me jip i've been told to take ibu profen. Although this apparently aggravates crohn's..... :/

a nice hot bath may do you the world of good tho!

i find ibuprofen does make my stomach bad so I avoid it. I was thinking about having a bath last night to try and help it but I don,t think I would have been able to get out again lol.
Went to the GI doc today and he has changed me from infliximab to humira got my first lesson in injecting next Friday. He said it should help my crohn's and arthritis as the infliximab doesn't seem to be working anymore. Feeling a lot more positive today and seeing the doc made me feel so much better.

Thanks for replying :)

Hi, sorry I can't help with the joint pain, I haven't had it too bad so far. But a good cry never hurt anyone...and I find sometimes it helps sooooo much. I had a good one last weekend when I saw just how fat my face had gotten...of course, it only made me more puffy but I felt better when it was over!!!

Hope you find some relief soon, and really hope the humira works!

Just a note... ibuprophen is what's called a NSAID. So is naproxed sodium and asprin. Google "NSAID". These cause stomach bleeding, etc. That's why they're bad for Crohn's. Basically, take acetamenophen (Tylenol) or other higher narcotics that have a mix of acetamenophen with codeine or something else.
