I finally received a diagnosis of Crohn's this afternoon. In one way I'm discouraged, yet at the same time I'm glad I finally know why I've been feeling rotten. I'm looking forward to beginning treatment after a couple of years wondering what was wrong with me. I'm sure many of you have felt this way as well.
Some of you may recall, a little over a year ago I was having Crohn's like symptoms and test after test came back negative. They could only find one small ulcer about this time last year. The biopsy was negative as well. Evidently, it hadn't progressed far enough for a diagnosis. Today, the CT scan clearly revealed thickening in the Ileum and Cecum area. My mom has Crohn's in the same area, except that her's was only in the Ileum.
Anyway, I guess there is one other silver lining. I'll get to regularly interact with some quality folks now. You guys have been excellent throughout this process, and I hope that I can return to the favor to someone else in the future.
