I have been recently diagnosed with Crohn's and have started taking my Azathioprine today (yes that recent)!

I now have reflux and do not suffer from this normally, is this caused by the medication because i only had it once on the Prednisolone. Can I take Mylanta in liquid form with these meds?

Hi Loren! I am brand new to this forum but unfortunately not new to Crohns disease. I think I have taken that medication in the past. I never had reflux until I was sick with Crohns but its is still rare for me to have. I don't think the Mylanta interferes with the other medication. My doctor has advised me to not take things like that because it could mask a flare or mask symptoms that need long term care... however since you have just been diagnosed I would think it would be ok to take it temporarily. But definitely let your doctor know about it so they can make note and keep track. When I was first diagnosed I kept a detailed log of bowl movements, medication changes and how I was feeling daily. It helped a lot when I went to the doctor and needed to answer all his questions. Good Luck! Its a rough road but remission is possible!

Welcome to the forum. Mylanta may contain aluminium/magnesium so it may reduce the absorbtion of certain meds. Some medicines are best taken with food, it will be best if you ask your Doctor or the pharmacist.
