I can't offer much help, I not a great cook either, but I hope you'll get some good replies because I'll be on a soft/low fibre/bland diet when I have ileostomy surgery next month. I'm already used to doing low fibre, but after the surgery all the information leaflets the hospital has sent me so far seem centred on white rice, mashed potato, toast, plus bananas seem to be about the only acceptable fruit. When I see the stoma nurse I'll hopefully be getting some more ideas, so I'll come back and post if I get anything useful.
Btw. does anyone know why white toast is better for a bland diet than white bread untoasted?
