Rectal pain? Is it because Crohns is in the rectum.

I'm guessing that's the case with me. I have severe rectal/vaginal pain and my GI said the CD was 'rip-roarin' through the whole colon' so I'm assuming that means my rectum, too. I would think you could also have internal hemorrhoids that cause pain without having any activity there.

I had it in my descending colon all the way to my rectum. Its not fun. I likened BMs to being sodomized with a knife. Worst pain ever.

When people say their rectum hurts is it because thats where the Crohns is?

I was going to start a thread with the same question. I had exerienced a lot of rectal pressure shortly after I was diagnoised. It feels like you have to go or pass gas. Is this the sensation you are feeling or pain? Often, when I began to feel this pressure, I'd pass mucus. My GI said it was most likely caused by the ulcers I had in the rectum. So, I started Canasa (suppository) nightly, which helped after about a month. But now I am weaning off taking one every other night and the pressure is starting to come back. So, I am wondering the same thing - is the Crohns/ulcers coming back? I would assume it probably is, though I don't want to admit it.

My pain also comes from the factb that I go so many times a day and most of the time it's liquid. It burns so much.

I asked my doctor to give me something for the pain. Now I have a cream forget the name that I put on twice a day on my anus and it feels so much better. Not perfect but better.

"I likened BMs to being sodomized with a knife. Worst pain ever." Chuckles It's funny because it's true!
