Red Flake in Stool (pic included)

Hi,

I appreciate you guys taking the time to read this thread to help me. I'm a little anxious right now, I just went to the restroom to have a BM and noticed something red in my stool. I kind of freaked out and decided to scrape it off my stool (kind gross, i'm sorry). Anyway, i dunno what it is, i tried to figure out if it was something i ate, but cant remember anything that would come out like something like this. I recently had some stomach problems so went to a gasroenterologist who took a stool sample and blood test and had everything come back normal. Either way, i would appreciate the help if any of you have had a similar problem. I've attached a picture to this note as well so you guys can take a look. Thank you so much.

It looks like a piece of fruit or vegetable skin to me. Have you eaten anything with a skin on in the last few days?

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for responding. I dont remember, i've eaten like tomatoes and things like that. But I'm worried about this being blood in a weird form. However whenever I bring it up to the doctor he says its nothing. I want confirmation though and after the negative stool test he's thinking im a hypochondriac. Does blood sometimes look like this?

It could well be the tomatoes, it looks like tomato or pepper skin to me.

I've never had blood in my stool look like that, but I don't often have blood so perhaps it's better for others to comment on that.

I agree with Sarah it looks like a skin from a fruit or veg, I really don't think its blood.

I also believe it looks like tomato skin. Not blood, blood dosent look like that in any form I have ever seen.
