Hi there,
well, im back . i was told last summer i had crohns. but a nasty hernia kept clouding the picture, so after 2 opinions and on pred from aug 10 to may 5th i was finally able to taper off. tapering for me was horrendous 1mg at a time. I lasted 10 days off pred and started to hear the gurgles again and the mucus appeared. Went into my GI who had gotten and re-read all the path from another hospital, he said that he felt all results pointed at crohns. he put me on entocort and 150mgs of Imuran. For those who remember me, Im the lady who was/is absolutely petrified to take the Imuran. I was prescribed it last august and have tried everything else to avoid it. went to 2 naturopaths, spent lots of money but unfortunately nothing has worked. So with that, I did start the Imuran at 50mg dose 3 days ago. My dose will ne 150mgs. I was given the TPMT (?) test and my result was 71. My GI said i should tolerate it fine. I chose to start at 50mgs and go up because i am nervous of all the horrible stuff i have read. So far the first afternoon I felt a little dizzy and queasy. Day 2 and 3 ok. I also started 9mg of Entocort and am to take it to Aug 30. Today I am having an unusual feeling of rasndom tingling in my fingers, both hands on and off. I googled it and MS stuff came up which upset me. Can anyone shed some light on this. Thanks for listening. You guys seem to really get this, where as i find not many others do. Thanks, Kelly

Welcome back :) I'm sorry to hear you've still been having a tough time of it.

The chances that your foot and hand tingling is vitamin B12 deficiency related is MUCH greater than it being MS (very unlikely). Have you had your vitamin B12 levels tested? People with Crohn's Disease are commonly deficient and one of the symptoms some people have is tingling in their fingers and feet. As vitamin B12 is absorbed in the terminal ileum and your disease is there, I think there's a good chance this is what it is.
