I started Remicade for my Crohns/AS and Friday had my 2nd infustion. I have also started weaning myself off of Enecort and went from 3 a day to 2 a day for 2 weeks and now, as of yesterday 1 a day. The last 2 days I have had more BM's than usual and I am not sure if it is the Remicade/weaning from the Enecort or possibly something I ate. Has anyone else had more BM's after an infusion or from weaning down on Enecort? I am not even sure what Enecort is supposed to do for Crohns.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I had a very similar reaction when I started Remicade and started decreasing the Entocort. I was a constipated Crohnnie - so I figured that the bowel was just finally starting to work properly as the Remicade was healing things up.

Entocort is a steroid that decreases infalmmation primarily in the terminal ileum - where most Crohn's disease is located. It is supposed to have less side effects than the systemic steroids - like prednisone.

Good luck with your wean!! I had a terrible time getting off the Entocort as I had been on it 8 months.
