Remicade treatment and stomach cramps

Hi, I am a newbie to this site, came across it searching for Infliximab and Stomach cramps....!

I have just started on Infliximab, well I am through the initial 3 doses and onto the regular 8 week top ups (via hospital infusion). I thought I tolerated the drug relatively well but am suffering awful stomach cramps, which I know is a side effect of Crohns but I was just wondering if anyone else suffers cramps after thier Infliximab treatments?? :sign0085:

Hi and welcome - lots of kind people and good info here for you.

I get flu-like symptoms about 36 hours after my infusions which last about 1-3 days.

I was suffering stomach issues - but I have determined that they are diet related. Look through some of the diet threads. I am trying the FODMAP diet right now and am having way less abdominal issues.

I do get stomach cramps now and again but it's usually because I ate something that I should not.

It,s easy to gforget you are sick with Remi I feel so good usually that I forget my body still does not like some foods...

Yep, ate popcorn at the movie - spent the night with stomach cramps WHEN will I learn that I can't have popcorn even if I am feeling fine!!!

The smell alone makes my mouth water and my stomach cramp at the same time.
