Here we go again! Waiting to see my surgeon in the first week of April, I had a ct last week with dye injected into the sinus on my groin and thankfully we have found where it goes, it is connected to sigmoid colon. My surgeon is looking at the scan and discussing with his colleagues to see what the best plan of attack is, hopefully a straightforward resection will be possible but who knows! The waiting for answers is the worst but it has to be fixed can't live with a weeping wound on your side forever.

Hey Big Truck
I am so glad they've managed to track the fistula and hope too that a straightforward resection will take care of it.

bigtruck,
I agree, the waiting is the worst. But hang in there. I you do or don't get stressed about it, it will still turn out the same. SO, no reason to stress, right. I know it's hard but you will be fine. Try to keep your head up
I wish you the best.

It can be reversed as far as I know cos it's basically reversed anyway. My surgeon wants to stay away from stomas if possible because of all the problems I have with them I.e high output and not being able to maintain magnesium so the question is going to be if there is enough good bowel for an end to end anastamosis.

good luck big truck, yeah the waiting to find out is hell, im in the same boat, waiting for a colonoscopy since jan after it was cancelled when i found out i wasnt gonna be out for the count,im needing to know if i can get rid of this drain from an abscess on my front that tunneled into the large bowel, and have enough good bits to get joined back together again without leaving me with a stoma, as they cancelled an op to go in and have a look but told me i could be left with one , to which i told them was a waste of their time doing that and i need a join up or just take out the fistula part, so the saga continues, hope you get sorted soon

Good luck!!! I'm not too far behind-surgery next week for removal of pill cam, etc. I will be watching your recovery closely as I will be right there with you!

I have an appt to see surgeon on 6th April so I will hear then what he thinks is or isn't possible from a surgical point of view, I was talking to him on the phone last fri and he said he hadn't seen the imagery but he was going to look at it and confer with his colleagues, so it's all just a waiting game now, it's in the hands of the gods!

Sounds like it's all taken care of-not sure about you, but you really have to be your own advocate to the point of pestering physicians, medical assistants, etc. to make sure they don't forget and do their job. They have so many patients but sometimes they forget too! I stopped feeling so bad bothering them bc I really do need answers...good luck and god bless!
