Hi guys. I'm currently in the middle of a nasty flare and doing a liquid/soft food diet. I bought some rice milk and want to ask what are your experiences with it? Can you tolerate it? Is it easy on the tummy while flaring?

I use Rice Milk everyday. It is very easy on the tummy and you get used to the taste. You may want to try different brands some are better than others. It is tolerated so well that if I am in a minor flare it is the safest thing for me to drink with a cereal that is safe. The only suggestion is shake it very well, it separates very easily. Good luck with it!

I don't like too much soy in my products, as it's a phytoestrogen, and "Lactose free milk" is really just regular milk with lactase enzymes already mixed in, which to me is blatant lying, seeing as how lactase enzymes aren't 100 percent effective when taken in pill form for me, at least. All that's left are almond milk and rice milk, both taste decent but rice milk is cheaper. I like the vanilla rice milk, it's great with cereal and in oatmeal. The only thing I DON'T like is the lack of any real protein, as it has 1 gram per serving, instead of milk's 8. It's always agreed with me fine though.

I find oat milk is much nicer. Rice milk has a strange taste I dont like and too sweet.

I am addicted to Soygood soy milk, their vanilla and chocolate flavors are amazing... slightly sweeter than regular milk i find with just as much protein and calcium

Never tried rice milk. Soy milk tastes good, sweeter that regular milk and almost a nutty flavor. But, to me tasted weird in cereal. Too use to what regular milk tastes like.

Anyone try goat's milk?

Yup. It tastes like goats smell... I've tried a number of times to like it but I just can't stand it.

Tried rice milk today and it's the only milk I've found that has been OK to drink for me. Thank god because I need to take in some calories.

OOH - now I was addicted to Alpro Chocolate Soya Milk, but after some Aza induced violent vomiting where all the chocolate soya came right back at me I went right off it... I'm now on the vanilla rice milk, and I definitely feel better for it. I sometimes add a squirt of Hersheys to make it taste chocolatey. (I know how to live it up!)

I didn't go for Oat milk because the carton advertised that it has such great fibre levels and I thought NO WAY!! So Beth - it causes you no problems?

I spose though the rice milk works for me so if it aint broke - don't fix it?

Oat milk is fine with me, as are oats - flapjacks, porridge, oat cakes, biscuits, etc. I think it's because whilst it has some "insoluble fibre", much of it is "soluble fibre" so it's okay. Or something.

Oat meal and oat bran are the things to be careful of tho, sometimes the latter is sold as the former but bran is the outer husk and you really dont want that.

I gotta ask, Oat milk? or Goat milk? never heard of Oat milk. But I bet I would like it. I like Rice milk, I find soy milk to sweet and thick. Besides I am NOT a skinny Crohnie, had it too long and snuck around it. Who makes the Oat milk? Thanks.
