had crohns for 10 years it was ok never really bothered me , i was 30 at the time,, now 42 and its started to play up,,on loads of drugs now ,pentasa, hydrocortosine,co ,,cod , i think it may get worse the older you get,try to keep fit but i dont know if this is a good idea,

Hey there :welcome:. It doesn't get worse but we do hear of stages been the top age group. 20-25 high, 35-40 not as high but 50s another onset can happen, I believe hormones have something to do with it and our bodies slowing down and building antibodies to meds. I was told many years ago to keep your tummy taught to support the intestines to be stronger... I am certainly not fit but I do try and exercise every day. When you are overweight and need surgery it is 10 times harder on you because they have to dig deep. So I have to lose a few ;).

Glad you joined us, hope to see you around. :bigwave:

I disagree. I think it definitely gets worse as you get older and your body just doesn't heal the way it used to. You accumulate scars and so on.

I'd love to be proven wrong but it's been my experience over the past 28 years that unfortunately, with age, Crohn's DOES get worse.

Welcome to the forum, Ricky! I am sorry to hear your Crohn's is bothering you now after years of it being in check. I sure hope your new treatment plan nips the inflammation in the bud quickly. Hang in there!
