Disclaimer - yes, if it isn't better in a day or two, or gets much worse I will be calling my doctor!!!

Saturday I started getting what felt like muscle spasms on the right side of my chest, under my arm. The spasms were enough to stop me in my tracks at time and wince...no rhyme or reason/pattern.....

Yesterday, I still was getting them, not quite as bad....took a a flexeril before bed to see if that helped.....

No spasms today, HOWEVER now I have a constant ache up under my armpit - about even with my breast line....I can feel it sometimes when I take a deep breath too.....

Doesn't feel like a pulled muscle - I was hauling/throwing hay yesterday with no problems, and I don't have any reduced range of motion.

Any thoughts on what it might be? Not sure if the pain is a referred pain from deeper inside or not....

I just remembered I need to call my GI office anyway to return a phone call from last week...will mention this to them when I'm on the phone.

I did also have an EGD on Thursday, but was fine on Friday.

Unsure what EDG is....but maybe you should see acdoc sooner than later....could be cardio associated....but there are several other things it could be.
Feel better soon

I sometimes get some pain in the lung/ribcage area. I wasn't sure what was causing it either and it was pretty sharp pain. And then, on a whim, I took some Tums while experiencing this pain - and it went away! Seems like it was referred heartburn/GERD pain. So maybe try taking an antacid and see if that helps or not. If not, at least you've ruled out heartburn/reflux as being the cause. I hope you feel better soon and can figure it out!

I had an upper scope on Thursday.....no issues besides a little gastritis....

Does it feel like it's in your lung? Does it affect your breathing at all?

Whenever there is sudden onset lung pain I always worry about the possibility of a pulmonary embolism, especially since Crohn's patients are at significantly increased risk of lung and leg blood clots. If it were a major pulmonary blood clot you'd be flat of your back and gasping for breath, but I wonder if this could be a small one.

As you said, if it gets worse or won't go away soon, get it checked by your doctor.

No, not around my lung...the spasms yesterday and Saturday were definitely (at least partly) in the muscle right under my armpit....now it is more sore than anything.....the spasms haven't come pack today.....

I'd look at nutritional / electrolyte imbalances as my first go-to for any kind of muscle spasms.

What's your diet look like in terms of sodium and potassium intake?

I just had blood work and everything looked good/normal for me.

As of last night, the pain started moving around toward my back, still there today, and I'm getting more of the 'spasms' which sometimes hurt enough to make me wince (and I have a VERY high tolerance to pain!)....

I do have an appointment with my GP's office at 4pm today, and I talked to a PA friend of mine....I'm leaning toward maybe a gall bladder issue? We will see how the greasy pizza I'm having for lunch affects it! lol

I'm thinking gallbladder as well. It frequently causes referred pain to the upper back and right shoulder. Hope your GP is able to help.

Well s#it sh$t $hit.....

Diagnosis........ SHINGLES!!!!!!!

Anyone else on Remicade deal with shingles? If so, what treatment did you have?

Diagnosis........ SHINGLES!!!!!!!

Bummer!

The shingles/chickenpox virus is a member of the herpes family, and nothing says "Forever" like a herpes virus. That virus has been with you since the day you contracted chickenpox and it will still be with you for the rest of your life. I hope they are able to get it under control soon.

Well, out of work since last Tuesday, and still out until next Monday as long as I don't have any weeping blisters.... The pain is, well, a PAIN!!!

I now have sensitivity on the right side of my scalp and I can't tell if I have a slight rash too.... Need to keep an eye on that one too ugh

Take care with it. If you caught it quickly enough there are some treatments that will get it under control quickly. Don't know how they react with remicade though. My shingles episode was about a decade before I started remicade.

Well, I got a seven day course of Famvir, which is finished tomorrow. Hopefully the rash will continue to get better, right now my blisters are starting to break and crusty. Due to the locations though, it is a fairly painful right now. I have to keep an eye on everything to make sure it doesn't start to get worse after ending the Famvir.

My GI's office didn't seem concerned when I told them, just mentioned that I should be fine by the time of my next infusion, which is in 5 weeks or so.
