I'm trying to find a good balance with vitamin and herbal supplements to address my various ailments/symptoms. I am being very careful, letting my doctor know what I'm doing and asking several pharmacists for their opinions.

Every time I take Imodium I experience a great deal of gastric distress, so I'm looking for an alternative.

One of herbal supplements I've read about that helps with diarrhea is Slippery Elm, which can be taken as a tea or in capsule form. It is claimed that it helps with IBD.

Robert's Complex also contains stuff like Cranesbill Herb, Green Cabbage Extract, Marshmallow Root Extract, Wild Indigo, Echinacea Root Extract and Goldenseal Root Extract. I'm going to give this one a try.

I am currently taking Ferous Sulphate (Iron) and Vitamin B12 for my anemia. Vitamin C is supposed to help retain Iron, so I'm taking that as well. I have some Zinc tablets as well, but haven't started taking them yet.

In addition I am taking daily Fish Oil and Flax Oil capsules, Primal Defense probiotic, Chlorella (recommended by my Acupuncturist) as well as an ordinary Multi-Vitamin.

Seems like a lot of pills to swallow. Hopefully I'm not overdoing it, but I'm worried I'm not getting enough nutrients via diet alone. One of my problems before is that I've never been one to take any supplements at all so it's been a big adjustment to my routine. Maybe I'm impatient, but I'm getting a little desperate to feel better.

I know how you feel I tried various supplements over the course of my disease. Really I think some helped, but didn't put me into remission. And that includes a probiotic, fish oil, turmeric, green tea, msm, melatonin, and ldn.

I would recommend the probiotic, enteric coated fish oil, and turmeric. Though like I said do not expect them to put you into remission. Just slow the disease down some.
