Help Support Crohn's Disease Forum:

hi and welcome to the forum, its a pretty good place to learn about our disease.

With regards to stress I find it causes me to flare. I was doing a maths degree which was stressing me out quite bad, at the end of that year I was pretty ill with my stomach so i decided to have a year out, to me my wellbeing is much more important then anything else so if im getting too stressed i just take a step back.

Cool you met your bf at the hospital.. he wasnt the one cutting you up was he :p

Where abouts are you from btw? would be worth filling out your profile to say as treatment varies greatly from country to country

Hi Mimmi and welcome! You have a terrific attitude and will make a great addition to our community. How have you been feeling lately? Is Imuran doing the trick?

As far as stress, it certainly has an impact on Crohns. Many people say it triggers a flare up. But I get what you are saying. I find it a Catch 22 - having Crohns and it being so unpredictable stresses me out and, in turn, makes me feel worse. It's a vicious circle. So, I am trying to learn to just roll with it. Sometimes easier said than done, but we have got to try, right?!

Hi Miimmi,

Welcome to the forum!

I see many similarities in your story to mine (well not for finding a boyfriend/girlfriend in the hospital ;)) and was reminded very recently how easy it is to forget about the disease when things are going well until the stomach pain comes back.

Glad to have you join us and looking forward to reading more of your posts in the future!

Hi guys!! I will not give into this disease ever.
I am glad that I joined you guys and I hope that we can help each other out….
:)

:applause:
Love the spirit - i lived a real rollercoaster ride with CD for 21 yrs
Had some bad,bad times but now i cherish everyday after i found the help i really needed.

I am glad you are doing well on Imuran. Why does your doctor feel you need to get off it soon? As far as I know, it is a maintenance drug specifically used long-term to keep Crohns in remission.

If you are curious about Remicade, there is a very informative sub-forum in the Treatment forum devoted to Remicade. You should definitely check that out.
