Hi all,
I have been taking Humira since Dec. In the last 6 week I have been flaring and then getting better within a few days every couple weeks. It wasn't until last week that I realized that it is directly related to my shot. I am hit with fatigue so bad I can barely stay awake on the Friday before my shot which is Tuesday. I am tired and have extra D, joint pain etc until about 48 hours after the shot.

So.... just curious is this typical of it losing effectiveness? I have an apt with my GI on Wed so will talk to him then. Should I be asking about weekly shots or is this the beginning of the end of Humira working for me? Any advice would be great. Thanks!

Hi,
There is quite a variation of the amount of the drug in your system, over the two week period. The 'peak' level appears after the shot, and then the 'trough' level before the next shot. Many people find that weekly shots give a more consistent level in the body. So it is quite possible that you are still responding but needing more.
I hope you are able to get back on track.
All the best.

Wish I could. My GI agrees it is running out early but wants too wait 3 months before making any changes. :(

He seems to think that my last fistula op may be interfering with the effectiveness and that it may get better on its own.

I've had a fistula since april, it is still there and doesnt seem to be going anywhere, I hope you feel better sailorluna!
