Hello. I am an undiagnosed patient of chronic upper abdominal pain for almost five years. I just had a CT enterography done last week and my small bowel looks good. The only finding is sacroiliac sclerosis. My large bowel was not distended enough to see. I do not have any back or hip pain, however I do get bouts of knee pain from time to time that can last up to six weeks. Doctor said this is usually associated with IBD, but we can't find it anywhere! I also have anal skin tags, supporitiva hidratenitis, have has a few strange rashes in the past, and constant trapped gas, upper abdominal and between the shoulder blade pain that can even radiate at times to the ear or neck. I had colitis in July 2011 where a trip to the ER and a CT scan showed bowel wall thickening in the descending colon. I had my gallbladder out for not pumping well and inflammation, no stones. And obviously the pain never went away! Should I request a pill cam next since I have had every other test imaginable? Should I see a rheumatologist? I have been diagnosed in the past with IBS yet I don't find any criteria other than bloating. Please someone, anyone, ideas? Thoughts? Thank you. :eek2:

Hi there :) I'm so sorry to hear of your struggles, that's tough.

Have you had an endoscopy and colonoscopy? How about a fecal calprotectin test? If so, what were the results of those?

Are you under the care of a gastroenterologist?

Hi! Thanks for replying! I've had a few endoscopies that were always clear. I had a colonoscopy two yrs ago six months prior to when I had colitis. The ct in the ER found my descending and transverse colon to have bowel wall thickening. I am scheduled to have another colonoscopy this week to make sure there is no change.

I know you are busy but if you have a minute I would greatly appreciate it if you took a quick look at my other posts/threads. One in particular has to do with the original ct results from July of 2011.

Thanks for your time and for replying.

Keri

I'm glad you're having a colonoscopy next week. I know it's hard, but I think right now it's a waiting game for that and its subsequent biopsy results. From there, it'll be easier to determine if a capsule endoscopy might be called for or not.
