Salofalk shortage?

I've been using Salofalk for a while now. After my initial (huge) reluctance to use pharmaceuticals I decided it was better to keep my disease under control and lead a relatively normal life. So I'm in a bit of a panic because Boots had my prescription for a fortnight then told me they can't get my prescription and I went to my local chemists and they can't either. I feel quite scared. I've cut my suppositories in half as of last night to try and eke out my remaining six or seven. Anybody else having this problem?

I had the same thing happen last year. They sat on my prescription for ages telling me it would be here in a day or two, then it was a shortage and they couldn't say when it would arrive. About a month later it arrived. I hung on because I was in no hurry to try it (although it was then nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be when I did!)
Are you able to contact your doctor to see if they can offer an alternative?

Thanks for your response (I have only just seen your post). I went round various chemists and in the end Asda managed to get me the 500 mg Salofalk, as 1 mg was unobtainable. In the meantime, though, I rang the hospital for advice and they told me about a website connected to the NHS called something like hardtofindmedicine. They said you send them your prescription and they will track it down for you, but luckily I didn't have to do this in the end.
