Ok so I saw my doctor on Thursday but I'm slightly confused, I mentioned to him about the fact that I'm still in the flare that I was in 6 months ago :( same symptoms as usual, but as soon as I mentioned the really horrible night sweats that feels like I'm burning 1000 degrees he suddenly looked at me funny and said "I will arrange for you to have another MRI scan" but what I'm not understanding is what's an MRI scan going to show?? He also ordered blood test to be done, but when the nurse put the needle in my vain it took a while for my blood to start filling the tube it took 10 minutes to fill 3 small tubes that to me isn't normal it hasn't ever taken that long before:eek2: even the nurse asked me "is this normal" I said "no" That was sort of an update:smile:

Maybe the nurse just hit a vein that was misbehaving. Were you cold, or maybe a little dehydrated? I am surprised that she (or he) did not try a different site, with the blood coming out so slow. It does sound like your doctor is being thorough!

The nurse tried any vein that she could see:(, I had a huge glass of water before still took a while and I defiantely wasn't cold only because I was having a random moment where I get realy hot pretty much like I do at night but during the day, yay my doctor is finally starting to waeke up .
(sorry for any spelling mistakes I've been feeling really dizzy and the night sweats have started to turn into day sweats lately :ybatty:)

She probably didn't,t get a good vein wouldn't,t worry about it and the more non invasive tests the better, wish my doc was like that.good luck

I hope that you get the results quickly, and that your doctor can figure out what is wrong, and what he needs to do to help you feel better. Be careful with the dizziness! I am sending you cool thoughts, but warm wishes! :ybatty::hang:

Thanks but after she had finished she went and mentioned it to my doctor and even he said that it's not right I normally have really good prominent veins they've never had any problems before also when she finished poking and prodding me with the needle she said stood there and looked at it and shook it and then asked me if my blood was normally really dark and thick, I just looked at her and said no, so that's probably why I'm feeling paranoid  :ybatty:

Sounds like the lady who drew your blood maybe got a bad vein, or she just was not doing it right. I have had issues in the past where it took forever, even had one lady tell me I had bad veins! She was like digging around so much I passed out! I was always afraid to get my blood drawn after that thinking I had bad veins. Well I eventually had to get my blood drawn again at a different lab and told the lady before hand that I was told I had bad veins. She looked at my arm am laughed and laughed. She then told me "No, you do not have bad veins, you had a bad Phlebotomist!". She said the lady probably was not very good at drawing the blood. I have never had a problem since. I also get bad night sweats where I am so Hot. Then I will get it where I am sweating but freezing at the same time. Doctor has NO clue why so I have no answers there. Hang in there and hope all goes well.

honestly don,t worry about it i,ve found that giving blood is a hit or a miss affair sometimes they hit the bullseye sometimes they don,t and casual throwaway remarks from drs and nurses are just as irritating as any other trade,i ,ve been prone to foot in mouth myself.thats the first time i,ve seen that happen as 210 litres of water cascades through the living room ceiling.oops!!that was a personal favourite.good luck

An MRI can show if there is thickening in the bowel or and strictures , inflammation etc...
DS has had an mre which is basically an MRI with contrast plus barium drink to enhance the imaging .

Weird on the blood draw.
If it was done at a hospital they should have the results within an hour or two.
Our Gi gets flagged right away for abnormal results and has called very quickly when things were not right ( as in needing a change in meds that day )
