Hi, I'm currently on Humira and pred (~10mg/day). This regimen is not proving helpful to me. Am contemplating methotrexate but don't know much about it.

Has anyone ever been on Humira along with Methotrexate? I'm just wondering whether that is a standard combination therapy or not. And in my case, it would have to be Humira plus MTX plus prednisone, at least initially, since prednisone is the only thing keeping me afloat.

Any experience OR any knowledge on this matter is appreciated, thanks.

Methotrexate and humira work incombination. Methotrexate is based on the antibodies/ immune system. Basically a go on methotrexate a month before you start Camero, and then you start here loading dose of Kimara what methotrexate does with samaras increases the potency of Humira by 30%. As far as prednisone it's masking the information were suppressing they should taper you when they feel you're in therapeutic range I guess. It just depends on your case and your doctor.

I know of one who uses methotrexate and remicade together, so doesn't seem to unusual to take it with Humira. I just read somewhere (can't recall where now) that methotrexate is an underused drug for Crohns, so perhaps more people will start using it soon. Seems like methotrexate is used after other drugs are tried. I'm on Pred and Imuran and we're hoping the Imuran is kicking in since Pred is the only thing keeping a lid on everything (Entocort didn't do much). My taper goes into Feb, and Humira is a possibility for me. Please keep us posted with your MTX experience, if you do try it

Other than me being increased to 25 mg injections of methotrexate, and taking that first dose today being left unconscious everything is fine with me so far my coworkers called me roadkill just thought it was funny. If that's the only side effect from methotrexate injections all be happy.
