So....I have the worst acne I've ever had in my life right now. Anyone else experience this from the meds or disease or what? I have small bowel Crohn's and am on Humira and vit b12, vit d, citracal, and omeprazole. I just weaned completely off of prednisone two weeks ago. Suppose its that? Its so bad....it hurts when I put lotion on. Its ridiculous and embarrassing.

Anyone else experience this? Anything that helped it go away? I need help!!! Thanks!

It seems like, for me at least, anytime I change meds or come off of a med or start a new med, any changes at all in my medication regime and I break out in acne. Mine hasn't ever been as bad as you described, though, so you may want to call your GP and ask about it. Hopefully it's just your body adjusting to coming off of pred. My breakouts usually last a few weeks and then start to go away on their own. And yes, it's totally ridiculous to have breakouts as an adult - I'm 35 and I'm getting grey hairs and the start of some wrinkles, so to have acne on top of that just seems like a cruel joke. Like my body has no idea what age it is, maybe I'm a teenager or maybe I'm old, who knows! :p Ugh, anyway, hang in there, I hope it goes away soon or hopefully your doctor can do something to help.

For me, acne was one of the things I hated most about pred. When I was on it first, near the end of the taper the zits would show up. The more courses of pred I was on, the sooner it would show up. It had about a 2 month duration but would then disappear. Hope yours do too - tough thing to have to put up with when the reason for it is also a little embarrassing.

I was on prednisone for a little under 3 months I think. I got HORRIBLE acne on my forehead. It was so awful. Bumps under the skin and pimples on top. Always. I have been off prednisone since December. It's notwJune and I'm still dealing with getting the pimples to go away. As soon as I have nearly a clear face, three more pop up. It's definitely not as bad as when I was on it, but I can't believe I'm still dealing with it. I'm 29 years old and never had bad skin before all this Crohn's junk.

I'm sorry I don't have answers and I just want to let you know I'm working on finding a solution too. I really hope yours clears up. As for now, I use St. Ives apricot blemish control. It exfoliates. I dunno if it's good or bad for my skin, but it seems to help a little.

Prednisone can cause acne, so if you were on it for a while that could be the cause as you may have to be off it a bit longer for some of the side effects to go away. If it doesn't go away when off meds you might want to ask your doctor about checking your hormones.

Could very well be prednizone.
I believe mine was caused by salicylate sensitivity, another thing to check. It went away when I stopped using soaps, shampoos and oils containing them.

Yeah it is most likely the med change. Drink lots of water and eat lots of greens and you should start to see vast improvements soon.

I got it on prednisone. I just made sure to drink lots of water and eat clean/eliminate sugars and fats to avoid aggravating the situation. The one thing that really helped fast was when I participated in the forum juice fast and my skin started to clean up after a few days.

Now that I'm in remission I know the food is the culprit. When I eat clean and drink tons of clear fluid or tea my skin is much nicer. A few days of junk and the pimples start to form.
