Hiya everyone,
I wrote in the Methotrexate forum that my consultant had put me on this cos he reckons the Humira isn't 'getting through', so to speak.
I researched quite a bit about this med, and found out that it's similar to azathioprine, an immuno suppressant. And I was scared about taking it. I reacted quite badly to aza and 6mp. I was panicking about nausea and vomiting, and read about taking it on a full stomach which could sometimes reduce or exacerbate vomiting etc.
Anyways, I found a tip on a RA forum about MTX. And it worked. Methotrexate is commonly used for RA, sometimes with a biologic.
I'm on 25mg, 10 lots of 2.5mg tabs, and decided to take it at evening time.
The lady on the RA forum said to eat some food, then a tablet, then food etc.
I had scrambled eggs and toast, and did this, some egg, some toast, a tablet, water, some egg, some toast, a tablet, til all 10 were gone.
And then I waited.
And nothing, I felt drowsy, and that's it!!
Slept very well and woke up refreshed, phew!! Hope this helps someone, xxx

Glad to hear this is working for you Joan. When they added aza to my remicade, it really took care of the last bits that were bothering me. Fingers crossed for you.
