Hi

I was diganosed in 2009 by Colonoscopy as Mild Terminal Ileitis and was put on prednisone 40mg in October 09 and Azathioprine Nov 09 and humira April 10 since it took me 9months to get off prednisone and nothing would get me in remission.

Well ive noticed a couple of times this year i would get sharp radiating pain from deep inside my bum up through to the left lower abdominal- always where i hav felt pain before i got diagnosed but it last for hours and comes and goes.

At the moment i am in remission only on Azathioprine 50mg x3

Does anyone esle get this pain and what is it

Becca - I used to get rectal pain all the time - called it "the knife"!

Do you have inflammation in your rectum? I would def mention it to your doc, but if it's only happening a couple times a year hopefully it's not too much to worry about.

My "knife" hit me several times a day during my worst flare ups and would usually result in an accident. Ugh!

Not that i know of i mentioned it to my GP last year when i had it aswell as burning down there and he couldnt find anything wrong, but when i see my Gastro doctor in May i will mention it.

I know theres something called referred pain as before i was diagnosed i had sharp crampy pains on my left lower side but found the problem in the terminal ilieum.

My last blood tests in January showed they were all normal but slighty high platelets which i have all the time which the doctor put it down to an indicator of inflammation somewhere.
