Should I be worried?

I had my Upper GI with small bowel follow through yesterday. The beginning of the test seemed to go ok, managed to down almost 32 ounces of barium for the test. The first few images went well, and I could feel when the barium hit my ilieum into my large intestine. I was told that I'd need to do some more images cause the barium hadn't gone all the way, and once I told the tech that I could feel where it was - she confirmed that it had made it, but there was 'something' blocking the view and that I'd need to do more images in another 30 minutes. When I did the final images with the tech, I was then taken to another room with a different machine. This test was done with the Radiology Doc.

My concern/worry comes from the Doc who asked multiple times if I'd ever had ANY type of abdominal surgery. This concerns me, so much so, I didn't get much sleep last night at all. I didn't have the chance to see any of the images at all - and was wondering, from other past experience if you can shed any light on the abdominal surgery question - and if I should be worried/concerned.

Thanks for your time!
Michelle

Try not to worry too much Michelle, I know it's hard. Surgery can leave scar tissue inside where you've healed and they might be asking because that can cause narrowing which slows thing moving through your system.
Do you know when you'll be getting your results?

Thanks for responding. I've never had any type of abdominal surgery, so the repeated asking really has me worried. I have a scheduled appointment with the GI on December 14, I may find things out sooner though if my GP gets the results and contacts me prior.
It's very difficult to NOT worry about this :'(

I know :-( The waiting for appointments and results is nerve wracking. You could ring your GP and tell them about your concerns and he/she could maybe get hold of the results? When I had the SBFT, the radiographer gave me some feedback at the time, but I waited a month before a letter to see a consultant came and it had no mention of my diagnosis. I called my GP and she told me the results and started me on meds.

Thanks again for responding. I'm going to try to not let this damn disease consume my every waking thought this weekend!!
