After eight months of working like a miracle drug the 6mp seems to
Have stopped working for me. Been flaring two months now and it is getting worse. Ended up at urgent care last weekend needing two bags of IV fluids BC I was so dehydrated from all the pooping (approx every two hours) and extreme nausea (a new recent symptom this flare which is horrible) my doc had upped my 6mp doseage a month ago in hopes this would get the Crohns back in remission and I have been trying to wait it out but I think my trip to urgent care has ended my patience.
I am supposed to be leaving on a five week trip to Canada (where I am from) to see family and friends in four days so started Pred five days ago in hopes it would get this flare under controAetna let me enjoy my trip and then start Remicade when I get home in Aug.
Was really hoping for a quick improvement on the pred but it has been five days and I am still having to run to the bathroom every 2-3 hours. I am wondering if this is normal or if I should have seen better results by now? Should I up the dose to 40mg to have faster improvement? My GI doc is on holiday for two weeks so don't really have anyone to talk to about this. Really want to get better for my trip and am feeling discouraged.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
