Hi Guys.
Sorry to bother everyone again.
Had my Barium Meal on Monday which went well (no problems) but since then i have had terrible stomach pains , Really bad wind , been feeling Nauseous , i seen to be going to toilet ok (although Stool was white coloured)
I went to see my doctor and he has gave me some tablets to settle my stomach.
Was just wondering if anybody else suffered the same after affects and if so how long can i expect it to last ? :sign0085:
Just started back at work (2nd week) after about 6 months off sick before i was diagnosed and the pains/wind are really affecting me, just trying to get back to normal.
Thanks

You should drink plenty of water to get it our of your system. White is a normal color. I didn't feel well for a few days but mainly cramps and diarrhea (usually makes people constipated). I never felt nauseous though (unless I was drinking it :p ).

Yes, I've had that infrequently-meaning it doesn't happen every time I drink barium, but occasionally. I think like Crabby said it means I didn't get enough fluids to flush it out of my system. Also walking around alot works it out of your system too.

The was white colored poo is part of the deal. I was so disappointed when it didn't glow in the dark.

Dont feel like you are bugging us with legit questions and or comments. If I can help someone go through the misery of crohn's because of what I have gone through it makes me feel a bit better about the whole thing.

Maybe try some gasx to help with the wind? if thats causing the pain it should help some. I agree more fluids, try to walk to get your guts moving and as contrary as this sounds maybe eat something you really like to get your guts moving? I know when I have to have barium after the fact they make me think of food I like to make my guts move the stuff instead of just sitting in there.

Think i may be having a bit of a flare up too , ended up at A&E with very bad stomach pains and fever , After about 4 hours of waiting around Doctor examined me and did an x-ray and she said that it sounds like a flare up. As im new to this im still not too sure when im having a flare up. But got loads of mouth ulcers today and still have a very painful stomach and the night sweats too so she's prob right.
This Crohns thing is mental lol :)

Yes it is hon. The barium may have inflamed your guts a bit, I know I ALWAYS feel bad after testing like that or a colonoscopy.

Keep your chin up and know it will get better! If I can be of any help please feel free to pm me.
