Side effects of pentasa sachets

:confused2::ymad:Heya im a newbie, iv ulcerative colitis and need advice...im on the 2mg pentasa sachets since thursday last week and im suffering with a fissure is this normal its so painfull to pass stuff and im sure me neighbour thinks im givn birth in the loo each time iv to go like at 2.30am this morn, so tired and need suggestions and advice....thanks for readn this

Hi there I'm so sorry you've been having this pain, I have no exposure experience of fissures so am unable to provide any suggestions other than maybe to contact your health care provider or an IBD nurse and let them know what's happening.

I'm quite new to this life too and have a lot to learn but I'm sure there will be people on here than give you much more help than I can. I do hope things improve for you soon, take care and a warm welcome to the forum. :ghug:

I agree, give your doc or IBD nurse a ring and tell them what's happening. In my experience Pentasa isn't gonna cut it alone, it's a maintenance med, but if you've got active inflammation you've got to get this under control first. You may need an additional med such as Azathioprine, an immunosuppressant.
